Crafted exclusively for The Wine Society by Peter Schell, winemaker at Spinifex Wines, this old vine Grenache has an alluring bouquet of ripe cherry, redcurrant and spicy undertones. A lively and fleshy palate carries plum and raspberry flavours, while fine tannins deliver a balanced finish.
Fragrant aromas of mulberry and black plum on the nose follow onto the intensely layered palate where they intertwine with hints of black olive, lashings of chocolate and toasty French oak. Fine long tannins provide structure and depth.
Bright aromas of strawberry and raspberry with hints of mint and tobacco. The palate begins with smooth, luscious flavours of forest berries and cherry and then reveals layers of liquorice, olive and peppery spice, while the earthy tannins add structure and depth.
Spicy blueberry aromas on the nose with hints of vanilla and herbal notes. The palate begins with ripe fruit flavours of dark berries and then reveals licorice and forest floor characters creating a rich mouthfeel. Well-integrated oak and smooth tannins adds structure and depth. A seriously well-crafted wine of class and elegance.
From the picturesque Abbey Vale Vineyard comes this ultra-premium wine, made by Jimmy Watson winner Julian Langworthy. This blend is all about poise and regional expression. Deep and inviting aromas ripe red fruits, plum and violet are complemented by notes of bay leaf and liquorice. The palate is well-rounded with generous layers of fruitcake, spice and lush red fruit, all of which are supported by cedar-like oak and fine, juicy tannins that provide incredible persistence.
"Shiraz was co-fermented with a small amount of viognier. This often results in some softening of the palate, but this wine retains power, concentration and texture, savoury tannins carrying the back-palate and finish to a long conclusion." Halliday Wine Companion
Fragrant aromas of pear, orange blossom, honey and toasted hazelnuts. The palate is richly layered with tropical fruits, citrus and spice. Natural acidity gives the wine a savoury and refreshing finish.
Lifted aromas of lemon and lime with hints of spice continue onto the palate in an explosion of flavour. Juicy acidity adds texture, balance and length. Drinking beautiful now but will mature gracefully with careful cellaring.
Different but delicious! A blend of 75% Chardonnay and 25% Sauvignon Blanc, this wine offers aromas of citrus and stonefruit. Richly layered palate with flavours of quince, nectarine and gooseberry interweave with spice and almond characters creating a creamy texture. A seamless blend that is crying out to be shared with friends and food.
This wine is made from locally-grown Marsanne grapes to create a crisp and refreshing wine packed with distinctive Marsanne flavours of lemon, peach and honey. A light- to medium-bodied wine with great acidity, minerality and structure.
Everything has a place and everything in its place: this gorgeous Chardonnay is just so well put together. It has structure, balance, bursts of citrus fruit flavour, flint and nuts. It is textbook Yarra Valley Chardonnay that is right in the slot for drinking now.
Chardonnay 80%, Moscatello Selvatico 15%, Fiano 5%.
Aromas of peach, white flowers and vanilla on the nose. The palate is generous with bright fruit flaovurs backed by minerality and good natural acidity. A fresh, delicate wine.
This contemporary Chardonnay is fresh, crisp and lively with just enough textural complexity from lees stirring. The wine was hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed before taking to some barrel fermentation in French oak. The result is a refined wine of flavour and finesse.
