Intense in flavour but with an appealing lightness of touch, this elegant Syrah combines red and black fruits with savoury characters. New oak plays a part without dominating the fruit and tannins are fine-grained. The wine will age with grace but is already drinking well.
Merlot doesn’t have to be a light wine; this full bodied organically grown Merlot is packed with flavour. Deep red colour matched with an intense aroma of plum, berry, coffee and chocolate gives your senses a hit. The soft
and smooth palate pleasantly surprises and then delivers a long, lingering finish.
Richly flavoured with pure dark berry flavours of mulberry, cassis and plum. Well integrated cedar/mocha oak creates great length and balance. Solid but very fine grained tannin structure completes this well rounded wine.
"This is one of the best wines that Deep Woods Estate makes and the one that I cellar for special occasions - and also drink it on a Tuesday with pizza." Julian Langworthy, Chief Winemaker
This wine was made using whole-berry pressing and extended skin contact during fermentation. Exceptional varietal aromas of rose petal and exotic spices are followed by a lush palate of cherry, raspberry and plum with hints of wild herbs.
A deep, vibrant red wine with a black core with aromas of dark plum and fresh red berries fill the glass while the palate displays flavours of dark chocolate and fine firm tannins.
"This delicious wine is a firm favourite when paired with homemade sweet potato gnocchi! Imagine peaches, yellow grapefruits, hazelnuts and honeycomb butter on the nose and palate, balanced by a mouthwatering texture and refreshing acidity for a delight on the senses." Cherie Nicholas, Personal Wine Advisor
Rich pear, citrus blossom and aromatic spice on the nose. The palate is crisp and clean with pear and apple flavours with subtle spice characters and bright natural acidity. Rich, textural and delicious.
Complex and earthy with nettle aromas and some bready overlay. Immediately engaging and different, offering complexity and intrigue. The palate is textured and savoury with some flint. Fine and rich with a sour cream note, leading to a fine tangy finish.
An enticing bouquet of citrus fruits continues on to the palate. Dry, firm and youthful, bursting with citrus and backed by excellent minerality before leading to a crisp, lengthy finish.
“A touch of smokiness and sulphur, lime and lemongrass, almost water-coloured, such is the subtlety, with pure minerally acidity, a light chalky texture, long clean length, with a dusting of spice in both texture and flavour to close. Beautiful. Finesse and precision.” Gary Walsh
Vibrant aromas of citrus, pear, stonefruit, brioche and roasted hazelnuts float from the glass. The palate is full of juicy peach and nectarine supported by a tangy acidity. Generous textural mouthfeel from time of lees adds richness and balance to the wine. This is a delicious Chardonnay with hallmark Montalto qualities exhibiting great varietal definition and regional expression.
